New Job at Zion Studios

I read a quote by Mark Batterson “Hurry kills creativity and compassion” It sums up for me how important it is to slow down and take care of the important not just the urgent.

My new job as production assistant at Zion Studios allows me the opportunity to work with creative people who are not satisfied with mediocrity. We keep going and working on it till it is right. The owner of the company also believes that compassion is not something you do on a mission project or once a year when you go to a soup kitchen, it is a character trait that must be lived out daily.

I am a member of a number of groups on facebook. Some of these are authors who post pre release information about their upcoming books or blog comments about the book. Chase the Goose,  Lion ChasersFight Mad Church Disease Here is a link to a chapter from the book Mad Church Disease by Ann Jackson. http://www.madchurchdisease.com Tell me what you think?

Motorcycle Suspension

OK, I had to climb up on a lift that my bike was fastened to and have these three guys shake and adjust the suspension. They assured me I would not fall off. I am afraid of heights so it was a little scary :) The bike seems to handle better already. Love this motorcycle stuff!!!

Ben is going to a track day on Monday. Wish I could be there (to watch) not ready to be “in” a track day. He wants to drag a knee… That is a little much for me.

Friends

What a blessing friends are. They are a gift to be cherished and protected.

True friends have a mutual respect and admiration for each other. A true friend speaks truth to you and if you are smart you listen to what they say. I have been so busy that I have not stopped to nurture the friendship that I have built along my life’s journey. I am sure glad that some of my friends have been very patient with me and have been there for me in the good times and bad. I have some good friends who did not grow weary in doing good and have been such an inspiration to me.

 Galatians 6:9

And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.

Ok, for those of you who don’t have facebook, but want to see a picture of my bike. Next picture will be one of me doing a wheelie

Captivity of Activity

When we keep ourselves so busy “doing” and not “being” we fail to hear the voice of God. I have failed in the past to hear what God was trying to tell me because of all the noise in my life. That noise can be work, TV, computers, hobbies, friends, sports anything that you place higher than your relationship to God.

Be still and know that I am God.

Never to Old to Learn Something New

OK, I am not as fast or as smart as my two sons when it comes to computers, but I am committed to understanding at least 1/3 of what they say when they are talking about their Mac, web sites and other technical words that sound like a foreign language. I am almost 50 but still have a few brain cells left to learn a new thing or two. I now have Facebook, I twitter, I have a web site that I blog on and I manage the comments using Disqus. I guess I should have all those words that have a URL (is that what it is called?) associated with a pretty blue underlined link, but I don’t know how to do that yet. BUT!!! I’ll figure it out.
